Certain people have a way of picking us up when we are down just as certain songs, movies, and books do. The key is to grab a hold of this inspiration and to turn it into action. Inspiration is a powerful thing that most people cannot explain but unfortunately it is not enough to just be inspired. The question becomes how we can turn inspiration into daily behavior.

Inspiration will only take you so far until it is lost. We have all been inspired to start a project or tell ourselves that tomorrow is the day we are going to chase a dream. But life has a way of pulling us in the opposite direction of our aspirations. I use a definition of success by Jim Rohn which is to continually move in the opposite direction of the negative pull of the world.

Don’t get caught in the “current of urgent” today and think about all the different projects on your plate. Take a moment to stop and identify what are three activities that will best utilize your time and energy towards getting to your dominant aspiration. Now repeat this behavior daily until it becomes a habit.

Seeing an idea all the way through to its logical conclusion is what separates the good from the great. In essence, have the staying power because most people will stop right before the breakthrough is coming. Greatness happens when we learn to combine inspiration in our lives with internal motivation. This is done by engaging in systematic, consistent behaviors that allows us to be able to do something tomorrow that we couldn’t do today.

New Thoughts Will Require New Behaviors

Passion can be described as the willingness to sacrifice something in the short-term for prolonged gain over the long-term.

What are you willing to give up right now that will help you manifest your dreams? We all have something in our lives that is taking up much needed time and energy that is only holding us back from realizing our deepest human potential. It might be a bad habit or even people in our lives. Draw a line in the sand today and grab a hold of your inspiration and keep it. Don’t let the natural, negative pull of the world take it away.
