In Gretchen Rubin’s book, The Happiness Project she makes a stunning claim that 40 percent of our happiness is born into us. It’s genetic. Since moving to Nashville I have made more growth both personally and professionally and I credit that to making a conscious decision to move from a negative to a positive disposition.

Dr. Wayne Dyer’s work is somebody I strongly recommend to make a “shift” in your life and to understand the power of attraction. Coach Micheal Burt introduced me to Dyer’s work and in fact he was able to go see Dr. Dyer live this past week in Puerto Rico. One saying I now live by is that we are the sum total of the five people we hang around most. Since surrounding myself with driven, knowledgeable people I have taken my career to a different level and made thinking as a way of being.

I was never a big fan of reading but now read atleast a book a month and constantly seek to feed my mind positive thoughts. Your mind is like a muscle so work it out and do a market anaylsis in your field to become a NEXTPERT in that area. I now spend each day trying to build on my own “happiness project” and buy into the concept of the power of positive.

So get around people that naturally attract positive outcomes in their life and learn from them. Great leaders are those that give away their gifts to others and influence them to chase their dreams. They help us have conversations that we may not want to have, do things we may not want to do, but they help us become things we didn’t think we could become. So use the power of positive in your life!
