Day 2 of Tell Your Story

Develop Your Table of Contents

Yesterday we discussed how to develop a working topic for your book that we will be working on together for the next month. My area of expertise is “How to find your differential advantage as the BEST of the NEXT Generation.” I came up with this topic as a Ph.D. student working with many peers who are simply confused about their direction in life. Our education system seems to be failing when it comes to teaching success habits for life lessons and getting people on the right career path.

The system spends too much time on Intelligence (IQ) and not nearly enough on Emotional Intelligence. Ask any successful person and they will tell you which of the two are more crucial to their personal success. Not once throughout my educational career was I asked, "Bruce what do you want to do for the rest of your life?"

Through the nearly two years of mentorship in my life with Dr. Colby Jubenville and Coach Micheal Burt I have been subjected to the art of positive thinking and creating a dominant focus which has turned me into the person I have become. I want to share this experience with anybody that will listen because I feel it can truly have the same impact in your life as it did on mine.

Two years ago I was sleeping on a couch after just moving to a town where I knew only a handful of people. I was a college graduate without a job in a new city with no real direction and in debt. I woke up and scoured the job market hopelessly everyday while snacking on a peanut butter & jelly sandwich (you might know them better as a PB&J). Today I am a doctoral student, a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and have recently started my own business (and writing my own book which you can now do).

My successes didn't happen over night but if you work on them nightly then you too can experience it! After months and months of struggle I began to experience many breakthroughs while I realized the art of networking and adding value to others. I will dig deeper throughout my book and teach you how to make the shift but in the meantime below is the table of contents I have come up with in becoming a NEXTPERT and to live each day with a constancy of purpose. They say the two most important days in a person’s life is the day they are born and the day they figure out why. 

Takeaway

Today, I want you to jot down the many ideas and concepts in your head and come up with five key points to start your story. Once you have these five begin to research each until you feel you are a “NEXTPERT”.
